The 4EU+ European University Alliance is a transnational strategic association of Charles University in Prague, Heidelberg University, Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, Sorbonne University in Paris, the University of Copenhagen, the University of Geneva, the University of Milan, and the University of Warsaw. The 4EU+ Alliance has one vision: to create one comprehensive research-intensive European University through a new quality of cooperation in teaching, education, research and administration.

Swiss higher education leaders met in Bern to discuss Switzerland’s role in the European Universities Initiative and the future of European cooperation. The meeting highlighted the strong commitment of Swiss institutions to long-term engagement in European university alliances.

From European law and digital transformation to artificial intelligence and Old Norse studies. Charles University academics and students have received the first funding under the new 4EU+Synergy scheme, with their projects demonstrating the diverse forms that collaboration within the 4EU+ Alliance can take.

Between 2 and 5 September 2026, the University of Warsaw welcomed 13 doctoral students to the META United Nations Summer School, held under the title The Resilience of Multilateralism in Times of Uncertainty.

A total of 36 European Universities alliances, including the 4EU+ Alliance, will come together at the 36th Annual Conference and Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), taking place in Glasgow, Scotland, from 8 to 11 September 2026.
