Project type: Charles University Mini-grant 2023

Flagship: Flagship 2

Project leader at CU: PhDr. Záviš Šuman, Ph.D.

Participating universities: Sorbonne University, University of Warsaw

The goal of the project is to support the idea of an intercultural approach to teaching foreign languages, especially French, and to strengthen awareness of the importance of literature in this approach. Students will develop their knowledge of various approaches to literature and the role of French language. The project team is planning to open negotiations about the possibility of creating joint-degree educational programs at the level of MA studies. The initiative “Cafés littéraires” have meanwhile become very popular and continue to attract large audiences. Students, foreign experts and members of teachers actively participate in the discussions, so it is desirable to pursue this activity. The final objective is to perform, once again, study visits at partner universities engaging the students aiming mainly to launch the SELFEE center, which organizes international French language exams at university level, and to continue research in the field of “Representations of literature and Francophone literature”.
