About the speaker:
Dr hab. Anna Borowska, Professor at the University of Warsaw, Poland, is a researcher and language-proficiency expert in aeronautical communication. She holds her Ph.D. in languages for specific purposes and a habilitation degree in applied linguistics in aviation. She is the author of Avialinguistics: The Study of Language for Aviation Purposes and English for Aeronautical Communication, and a co-author of Supporting the Training of Aviation English Trainers and Assessors: Reading You 5 by 5. Her research focuses on improving aeronautical discourse. She heads the Aviation Communication Research Centre at the University of Warsaw. In practice, she is an accredited Aviation English instructor and examiner for both private and commercial pilots.
