4EU+ Visiting Professorships

The 4EU+ Visiting Professorships is an initiative designed to foster collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation among the academic staff of the eight universities within the 4EU+ European University Alliance. This programme supports academics in undertaking a two- to three-month stay at another 4EU+ university to carry out joint educational and research activities that advance cross-border and cross-disciplinary cooperation.

The Visiting Professorships aim to:

  • Strengthen collaboration across universities within the 4EU+ Alliance.

  • Enhance the knowledge and skills of academic staff.

  • Contribute to the development of innovative educational frameworks, research approaches, and new expertise within 4EU+.

Visiting Professors work closely with hosting teams to:

  • Developing joint learning modules or programmes.

  • Conducting collaborative research and establishing academic networks.

  • Organising seminars, workshops, or other academic events that contribute to knowledge dissemination and enhance the Alliance’s visibility.

By participating in the Visiting Professorships programme, academics contribute to the shared mission of creating One Comprehensive Research-Intensive European University, fostering deeper connections within the Alliance and promoting long-term impact.

The programme is funded by the 4EU+ European University Alliance Association.
