Through the 1CORE project, the 4EU+ Alliance has strengthened the involvement of PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and young academic staff in its international community. Engaging researchers early in their careers is essential for building lasting cooperation across the Alliance, while also bringing new ideas, perspectives and approaches to education and research.
To support this objective, the 4EU+ Working Group Mobility organised three online information sessions between December 2023 and October 2025. Together, the sessions attracted almost 650 registered participants from across the partner universities.
The sessions provided a broad introduction to the 4EU+ Alliance and presented the opportunities available to young researchers. These included Erasmus+ and internal mobility schemes, funding opportunities, shared courses, blended intensive programmes, visiting professorships, cotutelle opportunities and calls supporting collaborative projects. Participants also received information about the 4EU+ Grant Support Service and opportunities to help organise activities within the Alliance.
An important part of the sessions focused on active participation in the 4EU+ community. Young researchers were introduced to the Alliance’s representative bodies, including the Academic Council, Student Committee and Student Ambassadors.
The information sessions will continue in the future, providing a space for questions, discussion and networking. At the same time, 4EU+ aims to make mobility information more permanently and easily accessible through the 4EU+ Student Portal, with guidance tailored to each home and host university.
