Building on the first Milestone 32 report, which presented the initial implementation of the 1CORE communication and dissemination activities between November 2022 and July 2023, this milestone focuses specifically on the development and use of the Alliance’s communication tools. Rather than providing another general overview of Work Package 7, it examines how the 4EU+ communication ecosystem has evolved as the project has progressed.
The report reviews the main channels used to communicate 1CORE activities, opportunities and results: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Bluesky, the 4EU+ newsletter and the Alliance website. It explains the distinctive purpose of each tool and how they are used to reach different audiences, including students and doctoral candidates, academic and administrative staff, institutional leaders, policymakers, partner organisations and the wider higher education community.
Particular attention is given to the increasing specialisation of the different channels. Instagram has become central to student-focused and community-driven communication, while LinkedIn supports professional and institutional outreach. YouTube provides a common audiovisual archive, and the newsletter and website offer more structured access to news, opportunities and project results. The report also highlights the role of the member universities’ local and multilingual communication channels in extending the reach of 4EU+ across their respective communities.
The milestone assesses the progress made in updating and coordinating the Alliance’s communication tools by October 2025. It also identifies areas requiring further development, such as adapting content to changing platform practices, addressing the needs of diverse audiences and improving the flexibility and shared management of the 4EU+ website. In this way, the report moves beyond the initial launch of WP7 activities and provides a more mature assessment of the communication infrastructure supporting 1CORE and the wider Alliance.
