4EU+ Student Ambassadors Workshop and first Student Contest held in Prague

On 19–20 March 2026, student ambassadors from across the 4EU+ Alliance gathered in Prague for the latest edition of the Student Ambassadors Workshop, hosted by Charles University in co-organisation with the University of Geneva. Building on the momentum of its inaugural edition in 2024, this year’s event introduced a new dimension: the launch of the first-ever 4EU+ Student Contest.

Bringing together students engaged in communication and outreach activities within the Alliance, the two-day programme combined skills development, collaboration and creative experimentation, reflecting the growing role of student-led initiatives in 4EU+.

Day 1: Workshop on "From Communication Fundamentals to Building a Content Strategy"

The workshop opened with warm welcoming remarks from Julie Hubeňáková, Head of the European Centre at Charles University. The programme then moved into a hands-on session led by Lorena Charotton (University of Geneva), focusing on communication fundamentals and content strategy. Through a series of practical exercises – from crafting compelling narratives to designing visual materials – participants worked in teams to respond to scenarios inspired by the 4EU+ context. The session placed particular emphasis on creativity, collaboration, and the ability to communicate effectively under time constraints.

Alongside the training component, participants were offered opportunities to connect informally and engage with the host institution. A guided visit of the historic campus and Prague’s Old Town, followed by a group dinner, contributed to fostering exchanges across universities and strengthening the ambassadors’ network.

Day 2: Launch of Student Contest

The second day marked the official launch of the 4EU+ Student Contest, organised in collaboration with the Student Climate Action Network (SCAN). Introduced by Yachu Yang (University of Geneva), the contest invited participants to apply the skills developed during the workshop to produce short video content aimed at raising awareness of environmental challenges. Working in groups, students developed and presented their projects, benefiting from peer feedback and collective discussion.

The initiative highlights the Alliance’s commitment to combining skills development with student-driven communication on key societal issues, in particular within the framework of the 1CORE project. The contest is currently in its final phase of preparation. The wider 4EU+ community will soon be invited to engage with the students’ work. Further details, including voting opportunities, will be shared via the Alliance’s communication channels, notably on Instagram and in the 4EU+ newsletter.
