The Teaching and Learning Department from the heiSKILLS Center at Heidelberg University is pleased to invite you to the upcoming Coffee Talk on Research-Based Teaching and Learning of the 4EU+ Virtual Center for Teaching Learning.
Research-based teaching (and learning) is a student-centred form of active education based on the practical approaches, methods, processes, and results of research. In this Coffee Talk, we would like to explore what research-based teaching actually means and introduce a framework used at Heidelberg University to conceptualise and implement it in higher education practice.
The session will begin with an introduction to the concept of research-based teaching and learning, followed by the presentation of a practical framework applied at Heidelberg University. To illustrate how this framework can be translated into teaching practice, we will also present a concrete example from Heidelberg University.
In addition, we warmly invite partners from across the 4EU+ Alliance to contribute short pitches presenting their own projects, initiatives, or approaches related to research-based teaching and learning. Please apply by 13 April via mail to gregor.stiebert@rektorat.uni-heidelberg.de if you would like to contribute a 5 Min. pitch. (Title, Discipline, Learning Objectives).
The Coffee Talk series of the 4EU+ Virtual Center for Teaching Learning aims to create a space for exchange across the alliance: to discuss ideas, compare approaches, share inspiring practices, and develop new perspectives on research-based teaching and learning together. We are looking forward to creative ideas, lively discussion, and networking across 4EU+.
The event will be conducted in English, and no registration is required.
