Call for student participation : 4EU+ 1CORE International Training and Dissemination Event

The 4EU+ 1CORE educational activity FEEDING THE PLANET – Shaping a Sustainable Future will bring together students, researchers and professors from 4EU+ Alliance’s universities to discuss the issues of food sustainability and related policies, building on the student-centred, research-based educational approach developed within the 4EU+ 1CORE project (One Comprehensive Research-Intensive European University), as part of the Erasmus+ funded European Universities Initiative.

This educational and student-engagement opportunity is organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Milan, 4EU+ associated partner, in the context of the Milan Urban Food Policy Pact (MUFPP) Global Forum, which will take place in Milan in mid-October on the 10° anniversary of the pact’s signature.

If selected, you will participate in online workshops with academics and food policy experts from municipalities, work online in international groups and meet for a two-day on-site workshop and event at the University of Milan (16-17 October 2025). In the 4EU+ 1CORE Dissemination event, you will get the chance to present your workgroup and ideas in the presence of Municipalities' representatives involved in the MUFFP Global Forum.

Who can apply

The educational activity is addressed to students enrolled in all levels of university education: bachelor’s, master’s and Phd programmes. Applicants must be regularly enrolled in one of the 4EU+ Alliance member Universities until the end of the educational activity (October 2025).

Applicants must be strongly interested in the topics of food sustainability and willing to engage in an interdisciplinary conversation on the policies that will shape the future of urban food systems.

  • Online workshops on food policies with Students divided in two groups:

    b) Diet and Nutrition in urban ecosystems.

  • Workgroups meet online in two meetings coached by tutors, in which they prepare their presentations for the Dissemination event.

The results of these activities will be presented during the dissemination event held at the University of Milan on 17 October 2025, framed in the context of the activities and achievements of the 1CORE project, with a strong emphasis on the project’s aim to consolidate the Alliance’s student-centred, challenge-based educational offer.
