About 4EU+

The 4EU+ European University Alliance has a mission to develop a barrier-free and continuously deepening cooperation in education, research and innovation within the Alliance, based on shared European values. The six members of 4EU+ are large, public, well-established universities that are comprehensive and research-intensive. They are also the top universities in their respective countries (Charles, Heidelberg, and Sorbonne Universities, and the Universities of Copenhagen, Milan, and Warsaw).


This network can be represented as an ever-widening circle, which extends out from the 4EU+ members to include associated partners, external partners and society at large.


4EU+ aims to serve as a touchstone for quality in the European Higher Education and Research Area, by building a cross-institutional, integrated university system, boosting access to best practices and integrating lessons learned to the benefit of other institutions and society.


The 4EU+ European University Alliance was founded in 2018.


In April 2021, 4EU+ founded an Association under German law, with its seat located in Heidelberg.



The General Secretariat of the 4EU+ European University Alliance e.V. has a vacancy for

Project Manager (f/m/d)

for an initial period of one year

Your tasks:

  • Providing support in the coordination implementation and management of European projects within 4EU+, particularly those under the direct responsibility of the General Secretariat

  • Monitoring project tasks and activities performed by the General Secretariat ensuring their timely completion

  • Coordination with different working groups and taskforces involved in the projects and proposals to organise the work

  • Prepare communications, meeting agendas, and presentations to ensure the flow of information among teams

  • Supporting the structuring and drafting of reports and deliverables. of varied groups within 4EU+, extracting the most relevant information

  • Providing support in the preparation of new European project proposals by coordinating with partner universities

  • Offices as anchor of the 4EU+ Virtual Development Office

  • Develop work progress monitoring system for the second 4EU+ European Universities project

  • Engage with external and internal stakeholders at different levels

Your profile:

  • Demonstrable project management experience and skills

  • Master´s degree

  • Strong organisational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work both individually and in close collaboration with multicultural teams at varying levels of organizations

  • Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and handle demanding timeframes. Ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously and work with tight deadlines

  • Excellent command of English ; another European foreign language is an advantage

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools

  • Strong service orientation

  • Ideally: professional experience in a similar position and project management skills
