Challenging AI with Challenges from Physics: How to solve fundamental problems in Physics by AI and vice versa
AIPHY is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) doctoral network for AI in PHYsics. It was granted around 1.9 million euros in 2024. Researchers from five 4EU+ universities co-supervise nine PhD students across the network. The goal is to develop optimum methods for the AI-supported analysis of complex physical data that has been collected with the Large Hadron Collider at the European research center CERN. After kicking off in the fall of 2024, AIPHY hosted its first PhD training activities in the summer of 2025. Besides research and training, AIPHY has a strong focus on industry collaboration and transfer activities.
