FabLab Hub

Connecting makerspaces

The FabLab Hub aims to connect fab labs (fabrication laboratories) and makerspaces at 4EU+ universities. While the individual labs are already up and running, the hub is currently being developed. Connecting existing and new labs will help to learn from each other, exchange best practices, and implement projects such as online courses. Several of the labs are associated with the universities’ efforts to support startups, thus bridging education, research, and transfer to the industry.

“I had the opportunity to take part in a 4EU+ staff exchange between Sorbonne University and Heidelberg University. It was a week packed with amazing insights in the day-to-day of the buzzing FabLab at Sorbonne! I followed the Fabmanager and got to interview most of the staff from director to student assistant. You could feel the motivation from everyone working in the Lab! The insights helped me form a clearer vision for the FabLab in Heidelberg! Communities live by connections. Thanks to the lab and the staff, I was able to experience this at first hand!”
– Toan, team member at the FabLab at Heidelberg University
