Warsaw, 11-12 JUNE 2026
In the middle of June, more than 40 participants came to the University of Warsaw for the Erasmus Mundus Workshop: Developing Competitive EMJM Proposals. The aim of the meeting was to support teams preparing Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM) proposals for upcoming Erasmus+ calls. The workshop enabled participants to further develop their programme ideas, refine key proposal components, and receive expert feedback to strengthen their future Erasmus Mundus applications. It also included practical work on programme development and implementation planning.
Experts from 4EU+ member universities shared their experiences during the event. Carsten Smith-Hall (University of Copenhagen) discussed common misconceptions and challenges encountered when developing a joint master’s programme at different levels: consortium, department, and faculty. The budget planning of joint masters was covered by Ole Henckel (University of Copenhagen). Josef Matoušek (Charles University) explored the concept of “jointness”, outlined key quality assurance standards and degree-awarding formats, and provided insights into the potential benefits and constraints of AI-assisted proposal writing. Anne Mette Wohl Rasmussen (University of Copenhagen) and Julia Pawłowska (University of Warsaw) guided participants through the administrative aspects of joint master's programmes, combining introductory presentation with hands-on group work based on practical case studies.
Following the plenary presentations, participants worked in parallel groups on concrete examples of Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters, while exchanging experiences from their respective institutions.
The workshop concluded with a knowledge assessment covering key aspects of Erasmus Mundus initiative.
The workshop was organised within the framework of the 4EU+ ETERNITY project, funded by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange, in synergy with the Erasmus+ 1CORE project.
