The Swealth is a project launched by the 4EU+ Alliance: Wastewater Monitoring for Public Health. It aims to build a research consortium dedicated to the development of innovative epidemiological tools for monitoring the health of populations.
The project focuses on approaches linked to wastewater epidemiology, based on chemical and microbiological analyses wastewater in order to investigate, on different time and space scales, the exposure of human and animal populations to chemical or microbiological agents.
The aim is to produce useful data for political decision-makers. It will create synergies to respond to international and European calls for tender, to increase the visibility and structuring of forces in this field, and to create a European doctoral program in the field of global health.
An international meeting will be organized on 12 November 2024 on wastewater-based epidemiology in Paris with the participation of speakers from the World Health Organization. The purpose of this conference is to emphasize the contribution of wastewater-based epidemiology to public health monitoring, with a particular focus on its added value in terms of assisting public decision-making.
