Charles University, University of Warsaw

The "Contemporary Colloquial Polish Language Course" project aims to enhance the curriculum for Polish Studies students at Charles University by focusing on the contemporary colloquial language prevalent in modern Polish literature, theater, and cinema. Recognizing the limitations of traditional academic settings, this initiative proposes a collaboration with senior students at the University of Warsaw, who are not only native speakers but also future teachers of Polish as a foreign language.

The course format is designed to be hybrid, with half of the sessions conducted online and the other half through in-person workshops in Warsaw. These workshops will enable students to practically apply their new language skills and participate in cultural programs, thereby enhancing their learning experience. The courses are included as optional ECTS-credit courses, adding academic value for participating students. The ultimate goal is to establish a sustainable model of collaboration that could be expanded to include other universities and create a foundation for cyclical cooperation, benefiting both institutions and their students.
