The "From Forest to Pharmacy" initiative is a collaborative project that examines the role of fungal species in medical science. It focuses on the discovery and potential applications of mushrooms that have not been extensively studied for pharmaceutical uses. The project's scope includes the identification and isolation of peptides with potential therapeutic properties, such as anti-inflammatory effects, which could contribute to the development of new medications.

The project facilitates the sharing of technical expertise and the establishment of new research collaborations. It aims to create a comprehensive online virtual course and workshop, titled "From Forest to Pharmacy," designed to impart knowledge and skills for the exploration of natural compounds in a methodical and research-driven context. This educational program seeks to connect students and experts from different institutions, fostering an academic community committed to advancing the field of drug discovery from natural resources.
