TRAIN4EU+ aims to gain insights into the member universities' practices in terms of supporting the development of human resources involved in research & innovation. A project working group is in the process of mapping current best practices in several HR domains, including recruiting top R&I talent in an international setting, talent management, and training practices, including training for leadership in research, as well as in the field of HR working with and for researchers.
“Right now, we are gathering information on work-life balance approaches across partner universities, and it will result in a set of recommendations based on our findings” says Adéla Jiroudková, leader of project’s Work Package 2 on Human Capital and Head of Department of Science and Research at Charles University.
University of Copenhagen has conducted a workshop on Performance Development Review as a good practice, and University of Warsaw is in the process of implementing it. As part of the pilot actions, there will also be a series of short job shadowing visits between staff from 4EU+ welcome offices.
Emphasis is also being placed on actions and practices for ensuring equal opportunities, gender equality and diversity.
“The topic of the gender agenda is quite complex, but we hope to cover it more extensively in our next R&I project, BRIDGE4EU+, which is pending funding approval”, Adéla Jiroudková says.
The working group will select a limited set of key transformative actions for piloting by the end of the project, thereby seeking to enhance management of R&I talent and human capital management within the Alliance as an outcome of the project.
