The 4EU+ Student Committee represents the students and Ph.D. candidates of the 4EU+ member universities in the process of establishing a European University Alliance. It is composed of three representatives of each university, of which at least one is a PhD candidate.
Sacha is studying European Affairs (MA) at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Sorbonne University, and he currently holds the position of Chair of the Student Committee. Fully involved in its university's academic and student's life, he is also an elected representative to Sorbonne University's governing board. Sacha has always been passionate about European cooperation and integration, and sees 4EU+ as an amazing way of spreading shared values while offering many opportunities to students in terms of mobility or research, within a network of 8 major European universities. As Chair of the Student Committee, he is a strong advocate for student interests and wishes to improve the Alliance's visibility.
Pavel is a student at the Faculty of Law of Charles University. He is the Vice-chair of the Faculty Academic Senate and the Chair of the Study Commission of the Academic Senate of Charles University. Pavel is an enthusiast of European cooperation and sees 4EU+ as an ideal platform for increasing international mobility and providing unique opportunities and experiences for students from strong European universities.
Kateřina has recently completed her general medicine programme and is now pursuing a PhD in embryology. Throughout her time at the university, she has been actively involved in the political and student representative scene. Currently, she holds the position of President at the Centre of Student Associations, students and graduates of Charles University.
Marta is studying psychology (BSc) in Heidelberg. She currently represents the university as a member of the Student Executive Committee and serves as Chair of the Student Committee. In this role, she works closely with students and collaborates with various structures within 4EU+, such as the Management Committee and Secretary General. From her perspective, 4EU+ offers students an incredible opportunity not only to learn from one another but also to grow as European citizens prepared to tackle future challenges.
Kim is studying psychology in her Master’s at Heidelberg University. She has actively participated in university politics, frequently representing students in the student body, the student council or as a member of a faculty council. She strongly believes in the power of cooperation, the European idea, and shared identity. As a member of the 4EU+ Student Committee, she aims to provide more students and researchers with the opportunity to experience the community of 4EU+ universities and benefit from the exchange.
Rodrigo is currently doing his PhD in Linguistics at the English Department of Heidelberg University, where he is also involved in student representation. His research focuses on cross-cultural pragmatics and the sociolinguistics of Spanish and English. His interest in cross-cultural differences in language production has driven him to explore cultural communication and collaboration at a wider level, hence his participation in the 4EU+ Student Committee.
Manon is a PhD student in communication studies at Paris Panthéon-Assas University, focusing in particular on issues related to media representations of the elderly. Her keen interest lies in health and demographic change, a key priority of the 4EU+ strategy. She currently serves as a representative for PhD students at her university. As Vice Chair of the Student Committee, she is dedicated to advocating for student interests and promoting the opportunities offered by the Alliance.
Gwenaëlle is a PhD student in Roman History at Sorbonne University. Alongside her research, she is a lecturer in Ancient History.
Mads is undertaking the Master’s programme in Agricultural Economics at the University of Copenhagen (UCPH). This study programme allows him to pursue his interests within the field of economics and econometrics, while applying the theories on global issues relating to food, natural resources, and climate.
Salim is doing a PhD in in Cellular and Genetic Medicine at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. As a member of the University’s PhD Students Association, he strives to convey the 4EU+ culture and opportunities among his fellow PhDs in Copenhagen, and hence, increase their contribution to the Alliance’s mission and vision. Salim's keen interest lies in entrepreneurship and innovation, key elements of the 4EU+ strategy.
Flavia, enrolled in the Medicine and Surgery course at San Paolo Hospital in Milan, actively engages in the university's political and student representative scene. She holds memberships in various academic bodies, such as the Health Science Department, Faculty of Medicine, Library Commission, and Student Council. Her participation in the periodic evaluation of her course by the Italian Ministry of Education deepened her appreciation for a student-centred approach to higher education and resulted in her election to the 4EU+ Student Committee, where her goal is to promote a new perspective on free mobility for students and cultivate a European mindset.
Rayan is a PhD student in Translational Medicine Programme at the University of Milan, with a research focus on hemoglobinopathies. He also serves as a representative of his study programme at the PhD council of the university. In his role within the 4EU+ Student Committee, Rayan is enthusiastic about introducing new ideas, initiatives, and opportunities for personal and professional growth to all PhD students across various disciplines.
Giovanni is a third year’s bachelor student in philosophy at the University of Milan. He is active in student life and representation, and is particularly interested in ancient philosophy and ethics.
