In addition to the MSc competence profile of home specialization, graduates from Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution learning pathway will acquire and/or deepen, depending on the courses taken in the partner institution(s), some of the following competencies:

Key concepts in biodiversity and community ecology
Fundamental ecological and evolutionary processes underlying biodiversity changes
Biology of different groups of organisms with special emphasis on their importance to ecosystem functioning
The main threats to biodiversity, locally and globally
Skills in/to:
Planning, collection, management, and analysis of biodiversity data
Collection and identification of selected groups of organisms
Use of molecular methods in biodiversity research
Use of tools and software for biodiversity data collection, standardization, management, and analysis
Use of tools and software for ecological and/or evolutionary analyses
Competences in/to:
Planning, evaluating, and performing biodiversity monitoring and ecological studies
Analyze biodiversity and community ecological data (also in evolutionary perspective)
Understand, explain and discuss species distribution patterns and their changes at both local and global scales
Applying knowledge of ecology and evolution in the management of biodiversity resources, and advising on environmental management issues
