4EU+ Plurality of Memories: Emerging Leaders Workshops for students from Ukraine

"Plurality of Memories in Europe in a Global Perspective" is now opening a call for students and junior researchers from Ukraine affiliated with any of the 4EU+ partner universities who have shown the tenacity and courage to stand up for Ukraine and its citizens during the ongoing conflict. We are looking for applicants who have demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to enacting positive social change and inspiring others to do the same, from helping people to relocate, organizing donations or humanitarian aid, providing psychological assistance or volunteering otherwise, to spreading awareness about the ongoing events in Ukraine by organizing public debates or discussions. The selected participants will be awarded short-term mobility grants at a flat rate that should cover travel expenses, accommodation, and daily allowances.

The project "Plurality of Memories in Europe in a Global Perspective" started as an interdisciplinary initiative developed by scholars in the fields of history, literature, political science and sociology from four universities of the Alliance: Charles University, Heidelberg University, Sorbonne University and the University of Warsaw. It aims to create a European pole of excellence in Memory Studies by encouraging students' and scholars' collaboration and mobility between the six universities of the 4EU+ Alliance. The seminar will nevertheless foster networking beyond those respective institutions.

Reflecting the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the current 4EU+ Plurality of Memories Emerging Leaders Workshop aims to inspire and connect the next generation of leaders. It will seek to equip the participants with tools and strategies to counter the negative effects of the war, further their analytical skills, and raise efficiency in fostering civic engagement and promoting democracy. The programme will consist of a series of interactive seminars with top academic experts in their respective fields who closely relate to the issues at hand in their research. The detailed programme of the workshop will be announced on the seminar website soon.
