Are you passionate about embryology and eager to explore the intersection of biology, medicine, and social sciences?

The 4EU+ Summer Symposium of Applied Embryology is back – and bigger than ever!

This four-day interdisciplinary event, taking place in Pilsen, Czech Republic, is open to students from all 4EU+ Alliance universities. It is organised within the Charles University 4EU+ student mini-grant.

The symposium offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with oocytes, sperm, and embryos using advanced techniques like immunocytochemistry (ICC) and to explore IVF and ICSI methods with expert guidance.

This year, the programme expands beyond the lab to examine the clinical, social, psychological, and ethical dimensions of reproductive medicine, featuring seminars with gynaecologists, paediatricians, and social scientists.

Why attend?

  • Certification: Attendees of the course will receive a certificate of participation.

  • Hands-On Experience – Gain practical skills in ICC, IVF, and ICSI using an animal model.

  • Interdisciplinary Insight – Learn from experts in neonatology, psychology, and reproductive law.

  • Fully Covered Accommodation – Stay at the university campus in Pilsen free of charge.

  • Travel reimbursement: Receive up to 275 euros to cover your travel expenses.

  • Open Lectures – All lectures will be open to anyone interested, including non-participants.

  • Networking & Community – Meet fellow students across fields and form lasting connections.

Note: Due to lab capacity, practical sessions are limited. In case of high demand, selected students will join the full programme. Others are welcome to attend lectures (without financial support).
