META UN Launch conference, 6-7 February 2025, Palais des Nations
META-UN is a 4EU+ global outreach project that aims to establish a science-policy exchange with the United Nations. Focusing on themes such as the UN’s historical legacy, contemporary governance challenges, and future reforms, the project brings together researchers, students, and UN officials to foster dialogue and collaboration on pressing global issues.
The META-UN Launch Conference offers a platform to explore three themes highly pertinent to the UN. The conference will feature researchers from the eight universities of the 4EU+ Alliance, leading academic experts from beyond the alliance, and UN staff. Its primary aim is to initiate a dialogue on how 4EU+ researchers can contribute to and engage with the United Nations and what kinds of research and insights the UN would find valuable.
Looking ahead, the conference will pave the way for future initiatives, including a follow-up seminar or conference in late 2025 or early 2026 to deepen the dialogue and work towards establishing a permanent science-policy exchange between META-UN and the UN.
The event is open to all interested participants, but seats are limited. To attend, please contact the organiser, Morten Rasmussen, by 26 January 2025 at [e-mail] .
