Students of 4EU+ Visual Literacy course participate in an intensive workshop in Prague

An intensive workshop of the 4EU+ Flagship 2 course Visual Literacy: Understanding the images of Europe - past and present took place in Prague on 18 and 19 March. The course was prepared by the University of Warsaw, University of Milan and Charles University within the 4EU+ educational project.

A total of 30 students and 9 teachers had the opportunity to look into the photographic collections of the Institute of Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and the permanent and temporary exhibitions of the National Gallery in the Sternberg Palace, together with an explanation by experts. We were guided through the photographic archive by Dr. Petra Trnková, with the exhibition “Forgeries? Forgeries!” by its curator Dr. Olga Kotkova. The second day of the workshop was focused on the current form of art, including engaged art (Artivist_Lab Tamary Moyzes gallery, Jan Čejka gallery). Furthermore, students worked on the projects that will be presented in June at the final workshop in Warsaw.

The program of the Prague workshop was prepared by Assoc. Prof. Marie Rakusanova, Dr. Vendula Fremlova and Dr. Pavla Gajdošíková.
