Students of 4EU+ member universities have time until 26 February to register for the online course "Culture, Democracy, International Affairs through the lens of Area Studies". The course is run jointly by Charles University, Heidelberg University, University of Milan and the University of Warsaw.
The course benefits from the diverse multidisciplinary expertise of four 4EU+ European universities, with special focus on cultural, international relations and historical perspectives. In the span of 12 classes, the course participants will learn about what area studies are, how they emerged and developed, and how this discipline helps us understand current global and regional dynamics. They will gain an inter-disciplinary and comparative understanding of different regions of the world and of current problems affecting them. Students will be equipped with the conceptual and terminological tools to analyse world events and dynamics, while at the same time drawing upon a series of very concrete case studies.
The course is conducted online and it is open to students of all cycles.
