Debate: Transatlantic Relations and the Incoming Biden Administration

As part of the developing 4EU+ cooperation among americanists, five of the 4EU+ Alliance universities will cooperate on the organization of an online debate focusing on transatlantic relations in connection to the incoming administration of the president elect Joe Biden. Charles University, Heidelberg University, University of Copenhagen, University of Milan, and University of Warsaw joined forces to make this online event happen.


The debate will take place via Facebook live-stream (Katedra severoamerických studií) on December 17, 2020 at 4 pm. The moderator of the debate will be Jan Hornát of the Department of North American Studies, Charles University.


The speakers who will share their remarks and opinions on the topic during the debate are:


  • Alessandro Colombo (Department of International, Legal, Historical and Political Studies; University of Milan)

  • Gordon Friedrichs (Heidelberg Center for American Studies; Heidelberg University)

  • Aleksandra Jarczewska (Department of Regional and Global Studies; University of Warsaw)

  • Cameron Munter (former U.S. diplomat)


Before the debate, which will be open to the public, the partners will meet for a closed-door workshop exclusively for the speakers. The main aim of the workshop is deepening of the cooperation of 4EU+ Alliance member universities and the discussion of shared project proposals for the future.
