One Health recognizes the interconnectedness of human, animal, environmental, and plant health, requiring collaborative approaches to address complex global challenges such as emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, food safety, and environmental sustainability. The main objective of TEACH ACROSS is to introduce an innovative approach by integrating the One Health framework into university curricula using the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) methodology.
Bringing together experts from the University of Milan, Charles University, Heidelberg University, and the University of Warsaw, the project will develop and pilot COIL modules. Through virtual international collaboration, students from different disciplines and countries will work together on real-world case studies, gaining interdisciplinary knowledge and intercultural competencies while participating in inclusive and accessible international learning experiences.
The initiative is expected to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration among university students and academics, enhance international virtual mobility opportunities, and provide a scalable model for integrating One Health education. In the long term, the project will support future joint educational initiatives, contributing to the development of a new generation of professionals equipped to address global health challenges.
