The European Student Assembly (ESA) is an annual flagship initiative of the EUC Voices Erasmus+ project, aimed at bringing together approximately 250 students from European University Alliances, including 4EU+, to discuss key issues for the future of Europe.
Selected students will join one of eight discussion panels, working together in a series of online and in-person sessions to formulate policy recommendations. The process will culminate in a final three-day assembly at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, from 20 to 22 April 2026. ESA participants will have the chance to develop and present policy recommendations, contributing to a more inclusive and democratic Europe.
Represent the voices of students from diverse fields, backgrounds, and levels of study.
Build connections with peers across European University Alliances.
Influence European politics and advocate for democratic processes.
Collaborate in shaping policies on key issues, contributing to Europe's future.
Panel 1—Strengthening democracy, engaging citizens: How can the EU bridge the gap between its institutions and its citizens to build trust and foster civic participation?
Panel 2—Scaling the circular economy: How can the EU overcome uneven progress and encourage change across sectors and societies?
Panel 3—Aligning budget with impact: How can the Union’s funding rebalance and adapt to the social changes?
Panel 4—Europe moving together: How can the EU develop an inclusive public transport system?
Panel 5—Unlocking digital potential: How can the EU empower inclusive digital literacy and cybersecurity and build resilience?
Panel 6—Educating without borders: How can the EU support universities in fostering interdisciplinarity?
Panel 7—Enabling generational solidarity: How can the EU address demographic change and promote meaningful participation for older generations in society?
Panel 8—Europe’s strategic autonomy: How can the EU reconcile strategic autonomy with its core values in the field of trade agreements?
Applications are open to students of all nationalities and fields from all 4EU+ universities, from the second year of Bachelor studies up to PhD level, aged 30 or under.
Students can apply either as participants or panel coordinators.
Participation is free of charge. Accommodation and meals during the Assembly are covered; travel is usually supported by your university.
