ARBO-WATCH : An arbopathogen preparedness network to identify and track emerging vector-borne pathogens in a time of climate change

ARBO-WATCH lays the groundwork for an international preparedness network to monitor emerging vector-borne pathogens, such as those transmitted by ticks and mosquitoes, whose geographic ranges are expanding due to climate change. The project combines expertise in microbiology, virology, and disease ecology to detect known and unexpected pathogens before they pose widespread health threats.

Through collaborative research, metagenomics training, and the development of a web-based data platform, the project facilitates early pathogen detection and supports the creation of a long-term surveillance system. ARBO-WATCH strengthens epidemic preparedness and builds the foundation for future grant applications, promoting scientific collaboration and innovation in global health within the 4EU+ Alliance.
