G-AI-T Seed: AI-Driven Personalized Treatment for Cerebral Palsy in Europe

The G-AI-T Seed project aims to establish the foundation for a European initiative using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance treatment for cerebral palsy (CP), a complex neuro-motor disorder requiring personalized care. Traditional randomized trials struggle to evaluate individualized treatments, but by analyzing patient data from multiple European laboratories, AI can optimize strategies by comparing similar patient profiles.

Aligned with the 4EU+ Alliance’s mission to foster research excellence, the project contributes to Flagship 1 (Urban Health and Demographic Change) by addressing health challenges linked to demographic transitions and Flagship 3 (Digitisation – Modelling – Transformation) by leveraging AI for personalized healthcare. Key objectives include standardizing gait analysis data in collaboration with the European Society for Movement Analysis in Adults and Children (ESMAC), developing a secure and ethical framework for clinical data sharing across the 4EU+ network, and building a strong collaborative network of CP specialists, AI researchers, and laboratories.

This interdisciplinary effort positions G-AI-T Seed as a pioneer in integrating AI into healthcare, fostering innovation, and strengthening European research collaborations. Ultimately, the project aims to establish a robust consortium capable of securing future European funding for large-scale research.

Thanks to SEED4EU+, the collaboration between Geneva, Heidelberg, and Copenhagen has taken shape. Together, we are building a larger scientific database, conducting experiments, and sharing expertise—key steps in improving treatment for cerebral palsy patients. This initiative lays the foundation for a broader European network that will ultimately benefit patients across Europe.
