4EU+ Sport Event 2025: A celebration of movement, community, and European collaboration

From 2 to 4 April 2025, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport (FTVS) at Charles University proudly hosted the 4EU+ Sport Event 2025 in Prague, welcoming students and faculty members from four 4EU+ universities – Charles University, Sorbonne University, the University of Milan and the University of Geneva – for three days of dynamic sports activities, cultural exchange, and community building.

A programme full of energy and variety

The event kicked off on Wednesday, 2 April, with a vibrant opening afternoon at the Troja Outdoor Sports Centre. Participants first broke the ice with welcoming games. After that, they took on challenges in water sports (paddle boarding and rafting), climbing and slacklining, followed by a welcome dinner and informal networking. The scenic riverside setting and early spring atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for students to get to know one another and start the event on a high note.

On Thursday, 3 April, the programme moved to the FTVS facilities. The first item on the agenda in the morning was a short run around the Divoká Šárka park, where students along with their teachers could enjoy a nice morning breeze with wonderful views. After the morning run, students tested their skills and endurance in combat sports sessions at FTVS, where they learned and tried self-defense techniques. After a well-earned lunch break, the group transitioned to an exciting gsports programme – a combination of gaming and sports, adding a digital dimension to the event and encouraging strategic thinking and teamwork in a different format.

The final day, Friday, 4 April, began with a session of gymnastics at the Nosticova Hall in Prague’s historic city centre. The atmosphere was filled with joy and movement as students explored coordination, flexibility, and playfulness. After lunch, the event concluded with a quick stroll through Prague, giving participants the chance to visit the city’s iconic landmarks and explore the Charles University rectorate in the very heart of the capital, where they were given a historically interesting guided tour.

Shared goals, shared moments

The aim of the 4EU+ Sport Event was not only to promote physical activity and health, but also to foster a strong sense of community, inclusivity, and international mobility among students. The event served as a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, connecting sport with broader themes such as well-being, social sciences, and digital innovation.

The three days in Prague were filled with energy, enthusiasm, and collaboration – all key values that the 4EU+ Alliance continues to promote in its mission to build a truly integrated European university environment.

Looking ahead to Milan 2026

With the 2025 edition now successfully concluded, the baton has officially been passed to our colleagues at the University of Milan, who will host the next 4EU+ Sport Event in 2026. Communication and preparations will now move forward under their leadership, and we look forward to supporting the next steps as the tradition continues.
