Tackle global challenges: Applications open for two 4EU+ Erasmus Mundus Master’s Programme

The 4EU+ Alliance is thrilled to announce the opening of applications for two Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programmes: the brand-new European Environmental Economics and Policy (M3EP), which will welcome its first cohort of students in 2025, and the Global Environment and Development (MERGED), now entering its third year.

These programmes offer unparalleled opportunities for students to gain interdisciplinary education at leading European universities while addressing critical global and regional challenges of our time.


European Environmental Economics and Policy (M3EP)

The M3EP programme equips students with advanced skills in environmental economics and policy, preparing them to address Europe’s critical environmental and economic challenges, particularly the green transition.

This programme is a collaborative effort between five 4EU+ universities:

  • University of Copenhagen (Denmark)

  • Heidelberg University (Germany)

  • University of Milan (Italy)

  • Charles University (Czech Republic)

  • University of Warsaw (Poland)


Programme highlights:

  • Year 1: Core competencies in environmental economics, policy, and politics at the University of Copenhagen.

  • Year 2: Specialisation at one of the partner universities.

Global Environment and Development (MERGED)

The MERGED programme trains students to develop sustainable solutions to global environmental and development challenges, with specialisations in agricultural development and sustainable environmental development.

This programme is offered in collaboration between three 4EU+ universities:

  • University of Copenhagen (Denmark)

  • University of Milan (Italy)

  • University of Warsaw (Poland)


Programme highlights:

  • Year 1: Interdisciplinary knowledge and fieldwork at the University of Copenhagen.

  • Year 2: Specialisation eihter in Agricultural Development (University of Milan) or Sustainable Environmental Development (University of Warsaw)

What are Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programmes?

Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Programmes, funded by the European Union, are internationally renowned for their academic excellence and their ability to provide high-quality education in a global setting.
