Flagship 2 research mini-grants: selection results

University of Warsaw has selected five projects in the pilot edition of research mini-grants, aiming to support 4EU+ joint research initiatives in Flagship 2 “Europe in a changing world: understanding societies, economies, cultures and languages”. The mini-grants are funded by the University of Warsaw from the "Excellence Initiative - Research University" project.


Out of five selected projects, four are tackling the impact of COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. L'Europe centrale face à la pandémie (Central Europe facing the pandemic) - participating institutions: University of Warsaw, Charles University, Sorbonne University, Université libre de Bruxelles as an external partner

  2. Women at universities and the COVID-19 pandemic. A preliminary comparative research among Italy, Germany and Poland - participating institutions: University of Warsaw, Heidelberg University, University of Milan

  3. Re-thinking "Media Literacy" in the Age of Coronavirus: inter- and transcultural e-learning contexts in European universities: a preliminary study of the situation in Italy, Germany and Poland - participating institutions: University of Warsaw, Heidelberg University, University of Milan

  4. Modernizations : States, Conflicts, Culture and Societies in Central Europe - participating institutions: University of Warsaw, Charles University, Heidelberg University, Sorbonne University, University of Milan

  5. De-democratization at the times of Covid-19 - participating institutions: University of Warsaw, Charles University, University of Milan


Following this pilot call, a second edition of the research mini-grants competition, this time open to all four Flagships, will open in mid-September.
